Privacy Policy
Last updated 11 August 2026
Magpie Net is a registered business name of J & Co Ventures Pty Ltd (ACN 700 692 020, ABN 43 700 692 020). This policy explains in plain language how we handle personal information connected with the public website, email enquiries, discovery conversations, the local demonstration and the paused historical compute testnet. Any future client deployment will also require deployment-specific service and data-handling documents.
When you visit the website
Cloudflare hosts and helps protect this website. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process standard technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, requested pages or files, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. The site also loads Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google to retrieve the typefaces.
Our public marketing pages do not use Magpie analytics or advertising cookies. The website currently has no public signup or booking form; email links open your own email service. Cloudflare and Google may handle their own technical data under their respective privacy policies.
Historical founding-list form
The previous founding-list form has been removed. If you submitted it before removal, the information collected was your name, work email, organisation and (optionally) intended use. It was stored via Cloudflare (a US-headquartered provider) for contact about the founding program. You can ask whether we hold an entry, or request access or correction, through the contact options on the homepage.
Email enquiries and discovery
If you make an email enquiry or join a discovery conversation, we may collect your name, contact details, role, organisation, the information in your message, meeting notes, follow-up correspondence and the workflow or requirements you choose to discuss. We use this information to respond, assess fit, scope possible work, prepare a proposal and maintain an appropriate business record.
Please do not send sensitive client, member or organisational information in an email enquiry or initial discovery conversation. Requirements can be discussed using general descriptions, synthetic examples or de-identified scenarios.
Local demonstration and future deployments
The current local demonstration is not approved for real sensitive customer data. It may be shown using synthetic or otherwise non-sensitive examples to explain selected interface, gateway and control concepts.
Before any future pilot or client deployment uses organisation-approved sensitive information, separate signed documents must name the provider, region, ingress, subprocessors and complete data path; define prompt-content logging, usage metadata, chat history, document retention, support access and deletion; and state the verified privacy and threat boundary. Magpie does not use client prompts or documents to train models. The selected infrastructure provider and any different approved purpose would be disclosed in writing before deployment.
Paused historical compute testnet
The experimental compute testnet and its provider, buyer and demo interfaces are paused and are not accepting registrations. If you participated before the pause, we may still hold:
- Google account details used to identify a historical account.
- Reported hardware capability, such as GPU tier and memory.
- Contribution and points records, completed-job results and liveness signals.
- A waitlist email address, if one was submitted before registrations closed.
- Historical wallet information created through Crossmint infrastructure.
The archived interfaces may use Google Sign-In and browser local or session storage if they are opened. They are retained as historical artifacts, not offered as the current Magpie service. The historical provider app was designed not to access personal files or documents.
How we hold and protect information
Enquiry and discovery records may be held in business email, calendar, document and record- keeping services. Access is limited to people and service providers who need it for the purposes described in this policy. We take reasonable steps appropriate to the information to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Sharing and overseas processing
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose or make information available to:
- Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery and security;
- Google for website fonts and the historical Google Sign-In interfaces;
- our email, calendar and business-record service providers;
- Crossmint for historical testnet wallet infrastructure;
- professional advisers where necessary; and
- regulators, courts or other parties where required or authorised by law.
Some of these providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Their locations can change. Any future client deployment will identify its provider, region, data location and subprocessors in the organisation's deployment documents before approved data is used.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and discovery information while we assess or manage the relationship and for as long as reasonably needed for business, dispute-resolution and legal-record purposes. Technical website records are kept according to operational, security and hosting-provider requirements. Historical testnet information is retained only while needed to maintain its contribution records, investigate issues and answer requests. When information is no longer reasonably required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it, subject to legal and contractual duties.
Your access and correction choices
You may ask for access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. You may also ask us to delete information where we are not required or permitted to retain it. Contact us using the email below and describe the information and request. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Privacy complaints
To make a privacy complaint, email us with the subject “Privacy complaint” and explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge the complaint, investigate it and respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when our information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Questions, requests or complaints can be sent through the contact options on the homepage.
